Yuan | China Co Distill (NEW)
Yuan is initially a rather inconspicuous oil that doesn't strike, but creeps up and gradually tightens its noose on your wrist. This oil with the colour of linden honey reveals its potential without cheap, vulgar tricks. The enormous density emphasizes the character of Yuan, which is by no means hasty, flashy or overwhelming. Enthusiasts of barns, stables or strongly fermented, cheese-like notes will be disappointed.
This is a very clean and contemplative oil, sticking close to the carrier, personal like a classic attar. The opening of Yuan on the skin is very delicate, "Kalimantan", with a glue-like element and a very distinct, sour nuance, which doesn’t resemble the acidic accord of yellow fruits known, for example, from oils from the Pursat region, but a more dry, citrusy note. In short, more yuzu than mirabelle.
A moment later, mossy, earthy notes come to the fore, which can be associated with the forest, green vibe of good quality pure Borneo oil. The whole experience is coherently intertwined and already at the end of the first hour of life Yuan turns into a clearly woody, resinous, slightly camphorous side. A trained nose will also detect a subtle wisp of incense smoke. This is where something surprising happens, an element of stock return that is hard to ignore. Clear notes of damp hay and salty licorice appear, which after a short time turn into a clearly gourmand, dessert-resinous composition. The whole becomes very milky, appetizing, although still woody and subtly herbal. Yuan is a very pure, smooth and friendly oil with a clearly kinamic overtone. It seems light and green, but quickly shows its woody-herbal claw, to settle on the skin with a surprisingly dessert-resinous touch. This is an oil that connoisseurs will appreciate for its variability and full spectrum character, as well as beginner Oud padawans who won't be scared by its overly dominant nature. Yuan is definitely the bright side of the
focus.
